I got the nicest note from a Texas Silicone Mold customer that I wanted to share, and what fantastic tips she provided as well:
“I would like to sing your praises for the quality of the product that you have produced. It is a beautiful job of production and works exactly as it should for baking. Spray the cavities with ‘Bakers Joy’ (which is a spray oil with flour added), and the individual cakes, made with a cake mix, release well. What a fun dessert! I usually frost my cakes, and sometimes pipe a little, ‘lone’ star in the approximate area of Dallas, where we live. I also use the mold for Pralines. We, in Texas, are mighty proud of our Pralines, and being able to offer them in the shape of our state is a delightful advantage. I’ve use both the medium size baking, and the ice cube mold for this. When making candy such as peanut brittle or pralines, just spoon the hot candy into the mold directly from the pot, making sure that it ‘spreads’ into the nooks and crannies. No buttering is necessary, and the candy pops right out when cooled.
I have searched the internet for silicone baking (and ice cube), Texas shapes, for a long time. I cannot tell you my delight in finding yours available. I am thoroughly pleased with the performance of the product for my use. Thank you.” – A.M.
